Charlotte Peters

Director

“Amy is an exceptional choreographer and movement director who brings invention, skill and an incredible energy to her projects. I had the privilege of working with her on Snow White at the Roses Theatre and as her range of talents became clear, so her role expanded to movement director and often assistant director at times! Collaboration and fun is at the heart of Amy's practice and as such, she made everyone feel at ease, from the young company, to the very experienced principals. Amy is also a wonderful leader, commanding respect from each company member and the confidence and enthusiasm she could inspire from the 'non-dancing' actors (as well as seasoned professional dancers) meant we were able to be much more ambitious in our choreography. Working with Amy is a total joy and I would recommend her whole-heartedly to any project.”

Julia Locascio

Director

“Amy was an invaluable choreographer partner on our actor-musician staging of A Man of No Importance. She is inventive and rigorous in her work and holds performers to a high standard. I observed her fluidly move between performance styles and conventions: she offered skills in puppetry, ceilidh choreography, tap, jazz, intricate transition management, actor musician movement, physical characterisation, fight captaining and lifts, and intimacy coordination. Her ideas were abundant and flexible; her solutions, relieving. I always knew I could count on Amy to feverishly pursue what the show needed.”

Glenn Tillin

Director

“I worked along side Amy as choreographer, movement/puppet director on our actor-musician version of A Christmas Carol. Her sensitivity to the needs of the project, the mixed abilities and particulars of the multi-instrumentalist cast, was pivotal in developing an ensemble identity that was fluid and dynamic in performance. Her rigour in honouring the demands of a MT book musical requiring set, tap and dance with a cast varied ability and skill, produced choreography that not only was sophisticated but made real collaborative connection with my artistic intentions as a director. Amy’s approach to the more subtle physical demands of the piece - working with the connected, integrated breath of the actors, was essential in articulating qualities that were beyond my individual directorial vision. She is passionate, committed and open to collaborate in a way that was inspiring to my own work. Amy has a broad and strong technical vocabulary but it is her playful responsiveness and passion to experiment and create collaboratively that makes her a practitioner that I will be actively seeking the opportunity to work with in the future.”

Jacqui Dubois

Actor

“Working with Amy is a joy. She is a great leader with plenty of knowledge and has a wonderfully eloquent way of getting her ideas across. Always open & approachable, I was particularly impressed with the way she handled Actors' choreography; always explaining in their language. Amy has a wonderful eye & extensive knowledge. Not just in the world of arts but her interests spread far & wide giving weight & layering to her style. A totally inspiring experience”

Writer/Producer - Her Not Him

“Amy came recommended for her choreography but proved herself to be an adept director and collaborator.  She was a pleasure to work with and brought passion and creativity to every step of the project.  She is extremely hard working, professional, dedicated and bubbling with enthusiasm for what she does, but also open to experimenting, to feeling things out and finding new ways to come at a moment, a movement or a line.  I look forward to seeing her career as a director develop from here.”

Alice Sillett

Director

“Amy has a very special talent for choreography. First and foremost she uses it to tell stories. She uses the language of movement to take the audience on a journey.

I have seen her work with many different styles sometimes entirely new to her, research them, get them into her body and create choreography that compliments the performance as a whole. Her work is fresh, sometimes beautiful, sometimes comical, sometimes painful, but always serves the story.”
